  • TERI colleagues meet Chairperson of African Union and President of Zimbabwe

    On the sidelines of the India-Africa Summit, colleagues from TERI met His Excellency Robert Gabriel Mugabe, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe and the Chairperson of the African Union, on October 27, 2015.   • Technology discussion forum in Addis Ababa during May 2013

    Horn of Africa Regional Environment Centre/Network (Addis Ababa University) and TERI Africa Programme organized a technology discussion forum jointly in Addis Ababa during May, 2013. This was supported by TERI DFID Africa Initiatives. Methods of benchmarking and standardization of clean cookstoves and solar lighting systems meeting the needs of rural households of Ethiopia was discussed in the forum. Know more

  • Lighting a Billion Lives Programme in Africa

    As a part of the Lighting a Billion Lives (LaBL) Programme in Africa, The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) reached out to several unelectrified rural households in Africa. Village entrepreneurs were created and trained. The entrepreneurs disseminated solar–based technological solutions to several rural households of Africa who are in need of that. This also has helped in addressing the "Sustainable Energy for All" goal by providing sustainable energy to village households of Africa.

  • Lantern charging station in Uganda

    TERI has established lantern charging stations in Africa. One such lantern charging station in Uganda can be seen here. The lantern charging station on an average caters to fifty households in its near vicinity and provides lighting solutions to these households.

  • Higher cooking efficiency driven clean cookstove solutions in Ethiopia

    TERI is a partner in Ethiopia working with technology developers in providing higher cooking efficiency driven clean cookstove solutions. The cookstove also has led to reduced indoor air pollution for the rural households of Ethiopia.
